Parish History

In the past several years, the Orthodox Christian population grew rapidly in the Southern Orange County area, and so did the need for a church that could serve the needs of that population.

In June 2003, the Greek Orthodox Mission of South Orange County (GOMSOC) was established under the authority of His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony and the Commission for Orthodox Missions and Evangelism (C.O.M.E.).

On March 1, 2011, Father Bill Tragus was appointed by Metropolitan Gerasimos to the Mission of South Orange County. On November 3, 2012, the Greek Orthodox Mission was named Saint Basil Greek Orthodox Church.

The spiritual community and programs that have flourished is a testament that all things are possible through God.
